Hoho Entertainment, the children’s production and rights management company behind Cloudbabies which was founded by Oliver Ellis and Helen Howells, has joined forces with brand new digital platform TotallyTween (www.totallytween.co.uk) for Mimi & Bibi, an original 26 x 2 minute animated show for 8-10 year olds. Mimi & Bibi are twin sisters who couldn’t be more different. “Mimi” is the quintessential good girl, all sweetness and light, on a mission to perfect the world in her own image. “Bibi” on the other hand is the archetypal rebel without a cause – just because!
TotallyTween, a safe, secure online environment for 8 to 12 year old girls was launched in the UK on 27th March by former BBC Worldwide SVP Programme Marketing, Clare Vincent and her business partner Gina Walter, a former London Stock Exchange marketing executive. TotallyTween is the “go to” site for tweens to discover, discuss and create in an eclectic online world covering film, books, music, fashion, health, fitness, animals, cookery, craft and social issues. Content on the platform is created for tweens by tweens and the collaboration with Hoho Entertainment marks a pioneering move as each episode of Mimi & Bibi will be the result of tween input and interaction from the TotallyTween audience. The show will celebrate and encourage difference as the twins debate from opposite sides of the spectrum in a fun and humorous way.
Commenting on being the new platform for Mimi & Bibi, TotallyTween’s Clare Vincent said, “TotallyTween will help build the Mimi & Bibi brand by showcasing it to our tween audience who will help shape the concept. We will show exclusive clips, post surveys and use our TT Trending section to ask our audience their views on each topic discussed by the sisters. Basically Mimi & Bibi has the potential to become the perfect tween show because it’s actually developed by its audience”.
Hoho Rights will sell Mimi & Bibi globally and has already developed a fun and edgy range of products which perfectly reflects the twins’ differing points of view.
Oliver Ellis from Hoho said: “TotallyTween is a new and exciting direct line into the hearts and minds of tweens today. So what better forum to use to help shape an animated show made for them? Our audience will then be able to see the end result and know that its voice is genuine and authentic. It’s direct, it’s digital and it’s daring!”
