Hoho Rights Ltd (the commercial arm of Hoho Entertainment) has been appointed by Dinamo Productions Ltd to manage the international TV and Licensing rights to their 52 x 11’ pre-school show, Abadas.
Abadas is a fun new mixed media pre-school show currently airing on CBeebies where children learn language through play. Each episode begins when Ben, the 6-year-old narrator, opens his magical pop-up book to look for his friends. At the centre of each episode is a highly visual word game. Ben introduces the word and helps the characters, through a series of clues, to find the related object. The series is a mix of 2D, CG/photo montage and vector based animation with live action top and tail.
Oliver Ellis and Helen Howells, joint MD’s at Hoho Entertainment, said “We are delighted to be working with Dinamo on this lovely series. Early feedback shows that children love to sing and dance along with the characters while also joining in the fun finding out what the word of the day is.”
Siwan Jobbins, Senior Producer at Dinamo added, “Abadas is the first production that CBeebies, S4C and RTÉ have worked together on and Dinamo are delighted to have brought these partners together. As well as positive feedback from our broadcasters, we’ve been overwhelmed by the wonderful comments about the series that we’ve had from both parents and children. We are now looking forward to partnering with the very talented team at Hoho, who love the show as much as we do!”
Jackie Edwards, Programme Executive for CBeebies commented “Abadas has become a firm favourite on CBeebies. It has all the ingredients for success - lovely characters in a gorgeous setting with some truly wonderful songs that are hard to get out of your head! All this makes it a very fun way to learn new words! Abadas is a delight.”
